I DA HOE HERE WE COME!!

Sorry, but when you come here I guess it just gets said that way. Anyway-we had a beautiful trip from Whitefish to Coeur D' Alene Idaho. Neil showed us a route that was just great all the way. We went thru some beautiful country. The Clark Fork area was gorgeous-Paradise tiny but pretty too. We went thru the small mining town of Wallace-main street filled with tourists-no where to park the "house" anywhere. I am sure Mike was happy about that-but he pretends to be sorry! It is fun to go thru these little old and lots of time very Historic towns-and I have no place to put antiques anyway-so all is good! When we came down the hill into Coeur D' Alene( which in French means "heart like an awl" we got our first look at Lake Coeur D' Alene-it is fabulous-deep turquoise blue, and really huge! Like any nice area as this, some pretty wonderful homes line the shore-and hide high in the hills above-we could definitely live here for a bit!
We found our RV Resort away from home-home,and were so happy that a nice camper at the KOA had told us about it. It is quite pretty-and our space was fight on the river,we are feeling really special-I think we have THE best spot in the park.
All day and eve-boats of every description and size pass by us,some are really beautiful, some are classic teak from another era-super fantastic! There are also large tour boats looking like old steamboats, and then also really modern design, filled with tourists on a dinner cruise or just a cruise around the lake. I think if we ever get to live here-we would have to have some sort of a boat.
We took the next day off to just relax-Friday we went out to see the oldest building in Idaho, the Mission Of The Sacred Heart. I have a few pics-this Mission was just beautiful-very elaborate inside for its time(built 1850-53)-unfortunately, they are doing some refurb work on the exterior. I could not bring myself to taking a pic with painting lifts and construction workers all over. They have a huge job to do in the restoration project-glad they are taking care of the Mission-but wished they had had a day off! We walked all over the grounds-many buildings had burned-the river barely flows past now, but it was a great landing site for the steamboats from St. Louis. There was an old burial ground, and lots of old plantings and trees.
From the Mission we went to check out Sherman Ave. This is a historic street, and now the main hub of downtown. The street it pretty-and crowded! Flower baskets hang from all of the light standards-I love this custom of the Northwest! We found a cute little bistro-had a wonderful Tai Chicken Pizza-did a bit of window shopping-then back home. It was a beautiful day-and just got better at dinner time. we went to the Cedars, the floating restaurant just down the road from the resort. We sat out on the patio/deck, and immediately you know that you are really floating-it is fun! Dinner was very good-and actually turned out to be enough to share again the next night.
The atmosphere was so special-still quite a few boats out on the lake, and the restaurant has a dock out front-you can just get off of your boat and go to dinner. While we were there a huge fancy boat/yacht/came up and docked-the owner of the restaurant came out to greet the group-it was like a bit of Hollywood in Idaho!
finding out what a nice place we had found-we decided to enjoy it for an extra two days. We will be leaving in the morning(Monday) for our journey to Washington. We have found a park in Puyallup-pronounced-poo-ya'll-up. We are looking forward to seeing Daddy-and Sheryl-and setting our joint plan for the most excellent adventure to Arizona.
the photos are some views from our house, and coming into Coeur D'Alene, and the Mission we went to see.
