Sept. 26
We had a full day of history and museums-and now we were ready to do the town!
6pm is a scheduled gun fight in front of the Irma-we are there- well, we were not so excited once the guy came out with the rubber turkey suit-so we went into the hotel a bit earlier than expected for dinner. good call! we took seats at the bar-a beautiful hand carved bar that was a gift from Queen Victoria to Buffalo Bill-a really beautiful piece that is like new today. We ordered dinner-including "rocky mountain oysters"-and enjoyed the ambiance-and the food.Mike spyed a set of guns in a case across from us at the bar-turned out to be a commerative set made specially for the Irma Hotel-there is a picture or two on flickr-and hopefully one on this blog-really beautiful and Mike was thrilled to be able to go behind the bar to inspect them more closely. We sat next to a nice couple from central Calif-they were doing the same route we are doing-just a day ahead of us. We had a great dinner-and a fun evening at the Irma-the Hotel is named for Buffalo Bill's oldest daughter-it is a beautiful piece of history-and way fun to visit!
