Sat. aug.30
Saturday started out with a bang! Eight AM the phone rang-it was Cole and Kjersten from Las Vegas-they called to announce that they are expecting their first BABY!!!
We are so thrilled and excited for them-we also love that they are planning to wait for the "birthday" to find out it they will have a boy or a girl-way to go guys!
also, the due date is Cinco De Mayo-a great way to start a life! Congratulations to the most adorable couple we know!
Sat. afternoon we had been invited to dinner at bad brother Daves house-we got there in the beautiful little town of Steilacoom, about 30 min. from home.getting into Steilacoom is like taking a trip back in history-charming homes, beautiful gardens-the Puget Sound in the background-it is easy to see why my brother and Sheryl have stayed there over 30 years. The first thing we did was to introduce Ginger to their puppies-Nike and Duncan. All three doggies are about the same size-and they made friends pretty fast. Dave and Mike and I,and Daddy,too- took a trip to tour where dave works-Camp Murray, located at Fort Lewis. He is in charge of the Logistics section of the EOC(emergency operations center) for the entire state of washington.
we toured the center-it is like NASA-lots of computer tracking-earthquake tracking and just making sure the state-and the world is in fine shape! I took pictures,of course-but if I post them-they(the ARMY) would have to kill me! anyway, it was very interesting-and we loved seeing where Dave works!
we got back to the house, and Dave and Sheryl made a delicious dinner-a Washington state classic-grilled-planked salmon.Nike and Ginger played ball-it was a perfect day!
