A HAPPY EASTER

Easter Sunday,2009

This morning we took off and went about 14 miles down the 15 So. to Kolob canyons.
We packed a picnic and kissed Ginger goodbye(no puppies allowed in these canyons).
There is a good little hike here that ends looking over a beautiful landscape of mountains and at the longest point-the north rim of the grand canyon. It was a steep climb, and rather muddy as it had rained the night before-and lots of rocks to maneuver around-but it was a beautiful sight when we finally reached the top. the wind was gusting-it was really cold-but totally worth the effort!
after our hike-we drove part way down the canyon and stopped along side the road and had a picnic of fried chicken,deviled eggs and carrot sticks-yum! the scenery was fantastic. there was a few other visitors to the canyons-but it was really pretty nice and peaceful. home we went-Ginger was happy to see us,I had promised her a little chicken and carrots when we returned-she remembers these things!
I had planned a dinner of roast leg of lamb,new potatoes and asparagus-the lamb took a bit longer than expected to cook, but the end result was delicious! Mike and I really enjoyed our day-and we were able to talk to most of our family-which always makes the day special. We spoke with jessica by skype in the morning-it was her birthday! We were able to see little Kaley crawl like a pro-she is growing soo fast! We talked with Nolan and Rylie and Taylor via skype in the evening-the girls were so cute-and very full of chocolate bunnies! We saw a big group of little ones here in the park hunt for eggs-they were all dressed up-some even with bunny ears-as we were really missing being with our grandbabies-it was fun to see these cute ones!
We decided last night to extend our stay one more night-then we will head for Salt lake City in the morning. I am looking forward to seeing the sights there-including the home I lived in when I was just a couple of years old. We hope everyone had a beautiful Easter-ours was one we will remember for a long time! I am posting a few pics here-some of the pics from yesterday went to a different file for some reason-so will have to figure out how to retrieve them!
